RideIt Driver Cancellation Policy


(Effective on 12/22/2025 for all RideIt rides)


Driver Cancellation Policy


RideIt values driver time and reliability while also recognizing that unexpected situations may occur.


Driver Cancellations

Drivers may cancel a ride without penalty if they have waited at least 5 minutes at the pickup location and the rider has not arrived.


Drivers may also cancel for free if they are unable to complete the trip due to safety concerns, rider behavior, or circumstances beyond their control.


Distance-Based Responsibility

If a driver cancels before arriving at the pickup location or before making reasonable progress toward the pickup, the rider is not charged a cancellation fee.


If a driver has arrived at the pickup location or has been en route and has waited at least 5 minutes, and the trip is then canceled due to rider unavailability or related circumstances, a cancellation fee may apply.


RideIt may use distance traveled, time elapsed, and driver arrival status to determine cancellation responsibility.


Driver Fees


RideIt does not charge drivers a cancellation fee at this time.


Cancellation fees collected from riders are retained by RideIt unless otherwise specified under a separate no-show or wait-time compensation policy.


Additional Notes


RideIt reserves the right to review repeated driver cancellations and may take action to maintain service reliability.
